Based on the official syllabus for the Under Graduate (UG) course under the National Education Policy-2020 at Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur, here is the full roster of papers you will encounter across the six semesters.
First Year (Session 2025-26)
Semester I
- Mechanics (PHY5001T): A fundamental theory paper exploring elasticity, frames of reference, the special theory of relativity, oscillations, and one-dimensional wave motion.
- Mechanics Lab (PHY5001P): A practical course focusing on the experimental determination of Young’s modulus, modulus of rigidity, Poisson’s ratio, and surface tension.
- Environmental Physics (SEC5321T): A Skill Enhancement Course (SEC) covering basic physical forces, thermodynamics, climate parameter measurement, and the principles of remote sensing.
Semester II
- Optics (PHY5002T): This module dives into geometrical optics, interference (including Newton’s rings and Michelson interferometers), lasers (He-Ne and Ruby), diffraction, and polarization.
